Podcasting in a Fast-Moving, AI World
What’s up, podcast rockstar? Many of us have been asking this question: What does the advent and prominence of AI mean for podcasters and the world of podcasting?
Oversaturation of educational, “expert” content
Anyone can go to AI right now and type in “Make me sound like a financial expert” or “Write me a script for a reel about top nutrition tips.” But we haven’t reached Matrix-level craziness (yet) where we can plug knowledge straight into our brains. There’s still a big difference between regurgitating AI info and really knowing your 💲hit and thinking creatively in your field of work.
The blessing of long-form content and thought leadership
True, real-time knowledge of and expertise in your field cannot be faked. Podcasting, being (in my opinion), the best long-form content machine, allows us to showcase our expertise in real-time and go deeper into a topic - ideally a pain point the listener/viewer may have. We’re collaborative, problem-solving, opinion-having, real flesh-and-blood humans. Imagine that!
So, what should we do?
Let’s stay on top of our game, podcaster! It’s important to stay up to date in our fields of work and express ourselves in the human way we comprehend topics, problems, solutions, theories, and all the beautiful elements that make up our work. All this said, your episodes don’t need to be deep journeys into the philosophical corners of your mind. But they also shouldn’t be simply reading off a list like, “Top 5 Reasons Podcasts Fail Before Reaching Episode 25”.
👉 Let’s find the middle ground. How can we include our personality and our take? You are a respected professional in your field. Let your podcast showcase this. When you put your money where your mouth is, you gain the trust of the listener/viewer and compel them to think, “You know what, maybe it’s time I hire someone like Jennifer to help me with my imposter syndrome, instead of drinking all this content from the fire hose and without actually applying it to my life.”
Let’s friggin’ go!
Being in love with your work, your mission and remember how and why you’re helping people will show in your content and in the services you provide. The super cool thing about AI is that, when used correctly, it actually takes A LOT of the tedious, boring, energy-draining tasks off our plate, so we can focus our energy and time on being the shining stars in our fields and helping others to our full potential.
BTW, if you’re looking to launch a podcast or are already in the trenches and realizing that I wasn’t kidding when I mentioned above about most podcasters not surviving past episode 25 (most actually don’t make it past 3 episodes), then you understand that it’s smart to have a right-hand podcast man on your side! The Podcast Man is here and ready to help your podcast work for your business! Thanks for being here.
