"Gabbing" is in.
What’s up, podcast people? Yep, it’s another article chatting (or gabbing) about AI. AI is here. How we use it is a choice for each of us. Staying informed on AI is our responsibility.
Let’s get to it! 👇
Why is gabbing the way?
AI content creation is here. No, not just “using AI for research, brainstorming, or to stimulate content ideas.” Not even just script writing.
We’re talking straight-up cloning ourselves to create video content. 👀
We’ve come an unnervingly long way in just a few years. You remember Will Smith eating spaghetti a few years back? The progress is unreal! Pretty soon, it won’t be just the older folks getting duped by AI videos. (Can you believe that dog can dance like that, sonny?)
The point of this tangent is that we’re about to get flooded with short-form “expert” content that’s a bunch of regurgitated, general advice sort of slop…and a lot of it will probably be pretty darn good.
🥁(Drumroll, please)… This is where the gabbing, rambly style of content comes into play! Real-life humans will feel a sense of trust and connection with a more authentic style of content creation.
What does this mean?
This is great news for the world of podcasting! Now, more than ever, listeners/viewers of podcasts will seek out longer, more free-form content that’s delivered in a more conversational and natural fashion. This is a huge connection opportunity for you, podcasters (or potential podcaster - hey, let’s launch your podcast!).
Know your audience, and go for it!
All this said, I’m not saying let’s all just wing it and blab about whatever’s on our minds. Well, actually, depending on your industry…that may work well if you’re a well-versed professional in that industry. But for entrepreneurs and business owners with podcasts, we’re going to want to keep a degree of structure to the episode content.
Keep the structure but be open to flexibility and loosening it up a bit.
Bring on the attention to detail. Tell stories and use case studies so your content isn’t “one-size-fits-all.”
Wave your “you flag.” After all, no one does it like you!
Be open to and even ask your audience for feedback when you go through periods of experimentation and pivoting.
And, let’s not be afraid to gab a little bit. (Do not fear! If you overdo it, The Podcast Man will edit it out.)
Your podcast man,
-Zack
